Unraku Studios currently operates as an unincoporated not-for-profit collective in the Canadian Province of Ontario. Our policies are drafted to be in compliance with relevant Canadian privacy legislation, the full details of which can be read online here. Although we do not currently operate in the European Union, for the sake of best practices we actively seek to remain in compliance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation as well as the privacy laws of various other jurisdictions.
We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when a user visits our site(s), when they register on our site(s), place an order, subscribe to our newsletter(s), respond to a survey, fill out a form. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and/or credit card or other payment information. Users may, however, visit and use our our sites anonymously. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain activities on the site that require it.
Non-personal identification information
We may collect anonymized non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our site. This non-personal identification information may include the name of the user’s web browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.
Web browser cookies
You can disable any cookies already stored on your computer, but these may stop our web sites from functioning properly.
Third party advertising
Due to concerns about privacy and tracking by third party advertising companies like Google and Facebook, we do not embed ads by third parties on any of our web sites at this time.
How we use collected information
We may collect and use your personal information for the following purposes:
To improve customer service
Information you voluntarily provide in any surveys or feedback polls that we conduct helps us respond to your requests and support needs more efficiently.
To personalize your experience
We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users use the services and resources provided on our Site.
To improve our web sites
We often use feedback from our Users to improve our products and services.
To process payments
We use the information Users provide about themselves when placing an order only to provide service to that order. We do not share this information with anyone, except to the extent necessary to provide the service and remain in compliance with applicable law.
To send periodic emails
If you decide to opt-in to our mailing list, you will receive emails that may include news, updates, product or service information, etc. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email. If you shop on our sites, we may use the email address you provide us with to send you information and updates pertaining to their order. It may also be used to respond to your questions, and/or other requests.
How we protect your information
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site. Sensitive and private data exchange between you and us happens over a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.
Sharing your personal information and third parties
Unraku does not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. Ever. Period.
However, we do use certain trusted third party service providers to help us operate our web site(s) and administer activities on our behalf. Generally speaking, these third-party providers only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, each of these companies have their own privacy policies regarding both the information you submit to them voluntarily and the information they record while using our web site. We strongly recommend that you read the privacy policies of these third party providers so that you can understand how your personal information will be handled by them.

Certain events that we host throughout the year are managed using services and tools provided by Eventbrite, Inc., an international ticketing and registration platform based in the United States. Data you submit to us using Eventbrite forms on both our web sites and external web sites that we may we link to is processed and stored by Eventbrite in compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. Please remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to submit information to us via the services of one of these a third-party service providers, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider and/or its facilities are located.
Your acceptance of these terms
When you use our sites, you’re signifying your acceptance of this policy. Your continued use of the Site after we post notification of any changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
If for any reason you don’t agree with this policy, please do not use our sites. We’ll be very sorry to see you go, but we understand.
